Woman Bullied for 75 Years Dies of Natural Causes

PRESCOTT, AZ - An 87 year-old woman who had been the target of a 75 year-long campaign of bullying from her peers passed away from natural causes in her sleep this week.

According to a medical examination of her body, Iris Horne likely died of a stroke and did not take her own life – a deep disappointment to those who spent over seven decades torturing her.

"I just hated her so much – though I can't remember why," 88 year-old Mildred Wilcox tried to recall, "I think it was because she was a whore."

Despite her failing memory, Wilcox, who personally contributed to the abuse of Horne during her high school years in Chesterfield, New York, says she never forgot to mail her favorite punching bag a hateful card during the holidays.

"I just wanted to keep in touch, let her know what a damn whore she was," said Wilcox.

Horne, known as "Virus Iris" after she survived a polio infection in the 1930s that left her with a severe limp, was bullied until her last day on Earth.

"These women followed my mother all over the country, trying to make her as miserable as possible for almost 80 years," Horne's son Walter recounted.

According to Walter, notable instances of his mother being bullied included his own birth in 1952, and the death of his father in 1998.

"My mom's pregnancy with me was complicated by the effects of her Polio, and it was made even more difficult by the group of women constantly hanging around calling her a whore," Horne said.

Despite their failure to compel Horne to commit suicide, her tormentors have rejoiced in her death.

"I'm glad she's dead and in hell where she belongs," Wilcox said.
