Trump: US COVID-19 Death Toll Less than 3% of Vietnamese Killed in Vietnam War

Two months after the United States announced it's first fatality due to the Coronavirus, the nation's death toll surpassed 60,000 this week - or less than 3% of the Vietnamese killed during the Vietnam War, the Trump Administration pointed out today.

"We killed about three million of those - I won't use that word, so I'll just call them people - during the Vietnam War, so 60,000 isn't so bad. I'm told that that's not even ten percent, which is very good. That's terrific," Trump remarked during a press conference this afternoon.

"The point is, America always wins," Trump added.

Trump later went on to suggest that some of the weapons used to fight the North Vietnamese Army and Vietcong in the 60s and 70s could be deployed against COVID-19.

"I've heard napalm works very well. Have you seen this? 'Snake and nape' they call it. Maybe we could look into that," he said.

Continued Trump: "There were also guys called 'tunnel rats' who'd crawl through tunnels with a handgun and a flashlight between their teeth and take the enemy out. Sounds like a good idea to me."

Asked to comment on the fact that the country's death toll has eclipsed the number of Americans killed in the same war, the President blamed President Obama for both.

"The fact is, the previous administration made a lot of mistakes. A lot of mistakes. Not just in Vietnam but in Coronavirus. I can tell you that if I was there, it would have been a totally different story," he said.
