Kirk Cameron Reveals Sexual Abuse of Himself

Kirk Cameron recaptured the spotlight today by revealing graphic details about years of sexual, physical and verbal abuse he says he has suffered by his own hand.

Billed to appear on the Tyra Banks Show to promote the release of his newest film "Born Again on the Fourth of July" on DVD, the former Growing Pains star became the latest celebrity to shock the nation with the public disclosure of a history of abuse – in this case one that was self-inflicted and spanned a period of 25 years through last Thursday.

Kirk Cameron, Cameron said, uttered profane, extremely hurtful insults at Cameron, routinely molested him, and once through him down a flight of stairs for trying to hide his penis between his thighs and claim he was a girl.

"One thing he used to do was to forcibly insert various objects into my anus and make me guess what they were," Cameron recounted, "He'd start small, with things like pencils and carrot sticks, but soon he'd work his way up to bigger objects, like socket wrenches and wind instruments. And if I didn't get them right, he'd call me stupid and pummel me with a pillow case full of Windex and scented candles."  

Victims of similar types of abuse have already begun to praise Cameron for his decision to disclose his highly intimate, personal business with millions of complete strangers.

"For years I've suffered in silence while I molested myself every night, until Kirk Cameron's story inspired me to share my own – with everybody I meet," gushed Brent Stafford of Pensacola, Florida, "It feels really good, and everyone I tell says how nice it is that I told them."

Cameron, who also starred in "Three Men and the Baby Jesus" and produced "Mr. Darwin Goes to Hell", credits his faith in God for his perseverance and belief that he will one day be able to forgive himself.
