Hobby Lobby Cuts Coverage for Gay Cancer

One week after the Supreme Court heard its argument opposing the contraception mandate of the Affordable Care Act on religious grounds, craft store chain Hobby Lobby announced Monday that it will no longer pay for the medical care of any employee who develops "gay cancer".

Included on the list of gay cancer the company will abstain from insuring against are AIDS related lymphomas, rectal and bone cancer.

Hobby Lobby has announced that it will also stop providing coverage for Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia, male breast cancer and pancreatic cancer.

Hobby Lobby attorney David Pierce commented on the motivation behind his client's crusade.

"At stake is nothing less than an American citizen's access to its First Amendment rights – in this case a corporation's freedom to not be forced to subsidize certain deviant lifestyles and the killing of children," he said.

Hobby Lobby has revealed that it will also discontinue providing any medical coverage related to sex reassignment surgeries, hormone therapies or diabetes.

In addition, Hobby Lobby's health insurance plan will no longer cover costs incurred by HIV treatments, kidney or limb transplants, car accidents, dog bites, lupus or heart disease.
